Broiled Grapefruit

Ingredients  

  • 1 Ruby Red Grapefruit
  • 1 Tbsp Brown sugar OR 2 Tsp Agave Nectar

Instructions 

  • Turn on the broiler in your oven.
  • Cut grapefruit in half, crosswise.
  • Cut around the edge of the grapefruit and between the individual sections so the segments can be easily removed with a spoon.
  • Sprinkle the halves with brown sugar or drizzle with agave.
  • Cover a sheet tray with foil, place grapefruit on the tray.
  • Place in oven, 6 inches under the broiler, for 3-5 minutes or until the sugar/agave starts to bubble and caramelize.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool before serving.
