As I walked around the airport this morning headed to NYC I couldn’t stop watching families travel together. I saw parents dripping with sweat as they wheeled their kids in travel car seats through the terminal, moms bouncing their babies in carriers while trying to grab a coffee and wrangle their other child at the same time, kids devouring bags of chips as their parents attempted to catch two seconds of shut eye and a mom trying to clean up a toddler’s face covered in chocolate with wet paper towels. Then there’s me and my stress. How is it possible that there’s no private space to pump breastmilk in the airport?

I’ve teamed up with Seventh Generation to send you off this season with tons of strategies for making your holidays much more fun and easy. Watch this How to Master Holiday Travel with Kids for tons of easy solutions to making holiday planes, trains and automobiles much more manageable at this time of year. With just a few quick and simple ideas like carrying Free and Clear Wipes in your carry-on for multiple uses you can turn your holiday travel into something you actually look forward to.

Seventh Generation also offers a reusable water bottle under their brand bobble. In addition to standard bottles, they also have ones that insulate to keep liquids hot or cold and bottles to infuse your water with fruit, citrus and herbs. These can be great for taking hot tea or if you wanted to flavor up your standard water.

Even being alone this go round I can tell you when I head back to LA from New York in 40 hours, I will be excited to pump in peace in the Mamava Lactation Suites. It’s nice to know you can have a little peace of mind and privacy at the airport when you’re trying to do what’s best for your child.

  1. So nice to hear they are finally making a place to pump/nurse! I had to pump in the bathroom while trying to get my one year old and baby to not touch anything. Yuck! Thank you Seventh Generation!!
